Monasterio de Tarlac is the best tourist destination in Tarlac because it perfectly combines faith, history, and nature. Located on top of Mount Resurrection in San Jose, it is home to a relic of the True Cross, making it a sacred pilgrimage site for Catholics. Beyond its religious significance, visitors are captivated by the breathtaking view of mountains, the cool breeze, and the peaceful atmosphere that bring a sense of calm and reflection. With its spiritual and natural beauty, Monasterio de Tarlac stands out as the pride of Tarlac and a must-visit spot for travelers.
Last year, my friends and I decided to visit Monasterio de Tarlac in San Jose. I often heard that the place was very peaceful, so I immediately told my friends to go to this famous tourist spot, and they quickly agreed. My uncle said he would accompany us to Monasterio since he knew the way there. The trip was simple yet refreshing. As we went higher, the air grew cooler, and the surroundings were filled with trees. Some parts of the road were a bit rough, but we didn’t really mind because the beautiful view of the hills made up for it.

When we arrived at the monastery, we were greeted by the tall statue of the Risen Christ standing proudly against the sky. It wasn’t crowded that morning, which made the place even more peaceful. I stood still for a moment and took a deep breath, letting the breeze brush against my face. I slowly walked around the area, savoring the silence, while my friends went off on their own to take pictures. The birds were singing, and the wind carried the scent of grass and trees. I went inside the small chapel to pray and reflect. The sunlight streaming through the windows gave a gentle glow, and I felt a sense of peace, as if I had left behind all the noise of everyday life.

After praying in the chapel, I found a bench facing the mountains. I ate my simple snack of bread and juice while gazing at the view. The mountains stretched as far as my eyes could see, and for a while, I thought about how nice it feels to slow down the pace of life. Before leaving, I dropped by the souvenir area and bought a small rosary. It wasn’t expensive, but it was meaningful to me as a reminder of that peaceful day. After buying the souvenir, I immediately went to the place where I was supposed to meet my cousins so that we could all go home together.
As I went home carrying the beautiful memories of that day, I felt my heart filled with comfort. My problems seemed to disappear for a while because of the wonderful sights, and I promised myself that I would return again to the most beautiful tourist spot in Tarlac… MONASTERIO DE TARLAC!!!
